Lloyd's journey into the remodeling industry began unconventionally. He kick-started his career as an apprentice at the Apprentice School at Newport News Shipbuilding & Dry Dock Co, specializing as a Shipfitter. Following his graduation from the Apprentice School, Lloyd swiftly ascended to the role of Shipfitter Supervisor, overseeing the construction of 688 Fast Attack Submarines.

Simultaneously, while working full-time, Lloyd pursued his college education at Thomas Nelson Community College, earning an Associates degree in Industrial Management. He then continued his studies at The College of William and Mary, graduating with a BABA in Business Finance in 1989.

In the midst of his professional commitments, Lloyd embarked on a weekend business venture constructing fences, sheds, and garages. This initiative aimed to supplement his family income, enabling his wife Debbie to devote herself to raising their three sons.

After years of balancing rigorous shipyard duties with weekend building projects, Lloyd faced a pivotal decision in 1997. Driven by a passion for the remodeling industry, he resigned from Newport News Shipbuilding to pursue a career full-time.

Since then, Lloyd has been committed to enhancing his expertise through ongoing education, including courses offered by the National Home Builders Association (NHBA). He remains dedicated to mastering new building practices, staying abreast of innovative products, and navigating evolving building codes. His business philosophy is anchored in delivering quality products, exceptional craftsmanship, and unwavering integrity.

While Lloyd finds great fulfillment in his profession and takes pride in the accomplishments of Stephens Remodeling and his dedicated team, his greatest source of pride is his family. He cherishes his wife Debbie, their three sons, and grandson Walt. Lloyd's passion for mentoring extends beyond his career; he devoted 11 years to coaching travel soccer, reflecting his commitment to community and family values.
